Event Title

Salmon River Canoe Paddle

Event Description

Join local naturalist and canoeing/kayaking enthusiast Terry Sprague as he guides you on an interpretive paddle up the Salmon River, from Roblin to Croydon. This scenic quiet stretch of the river is full of colour in the fall and a delight to paddle. Rub shoulders with some of the river's inhabitants and learn about the wildflowers along the way, as well as the river's history. Look at some of the incredible flora and fauna along the way - great blue herons, water willow, painted turtles, and buttonbush. We will have lunch near an old bridge ruins where the river is but a trickle, before returning back to our cars. Please bring your own canoe.
