The Evolve Challenge

Friday, September 12th, to Sunday, September 14th, 2008 

The Evolve Challenge is a 3-day outdoor adventure challenge for high school students in the York Region District School Board and the rest of Ontario. The program will be held on the weekend of September 12-14th, 2008 at Camp Walden, located near Bancroft, Ontario. Hastings Highlands Hilly Hundred

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

The 3rd Annual Hastings Highlands Hilly Hundred, billed as “Ontario’s Toughest Century Ride”, is a cycling event that weaves its way through the hills and valleys of the Canadian Shield from Bancroft, Combermere, Wilno, Barry’s Bay and back.  Participants can choose from 4 distances, approximately 60k, 80k, 160k, and 240k. The terrain is a mix of gentle country paved roads, limited highway riding, and “breathtaking” hills carved through ancient granite bedrock.  Riders will travel through some of Ontario’s most beautiful landscapes, pristine lakes and colourful hardwood forests. more...

Deep Roots Relay

Saturday, October 4th,2008

A family fundraiser event where team members complete different legs of the 25 km relay that starts at Maynooth Railway Station in the north and ends at Bancroft Railway Station in the south. Participants will discover clues to the past along the route to win prizes. Fund raised will go towards the restoration of the Maynooth Railway Station, Bancroft Railway Station, and local youth projects.  Prizes for the team with the best time, youngest member and oldest participant.  Refreshments at finish line. more...

 

Woof Walk

Saturday, October 4th,2008

Take your dog for a walk and enjoy a beautiful walk along the Hastings Heritage Trail in "solidarity" for animal welfare. The hike will be followed by a barbeque and dog show. HART’s 3rd Annual “Woof Walk” is a pledge walk with funds earned going to support rescue of dogs/cats in Hastings County and beyond to Barry’s Bay, Wilno and Whitney. more... 

 

Egan Chutes Provincial Park
