The Frontenac Challenge
Monday, September 1st - Friday, October, 31st, 2008
The Frontenac Challenge involves hiking all 160 km of the Frontenac Provincial Park’s trail network between September 1st and October 31st.To meet the challenge, all participants have to do is pick up a registration form from the Frontenac Provincial Park Office, obtain a park permit and then set out to hike through the autumn splendour of Frontenac Provincial Park. Depot in the Fall

The 9 km hike gets you up close and personal with lakes, granite outcrops, polyploidy ferns, beaver dams, logging history and interior campsites in the Depot Lakes Conservation Area. This conservation area is 3,000 acres in size and contains Second, Third and Fourth Depot Lakes. Hiking time is approximately 5 hours with stops and lunch. more...
